The more it has to scan/do the slower it’s going to be. You computer is built to run by literally scanning the first 0’s and 1’s until it can scan the files on your hard drive and scans them from the top down. These files alone, while small, are doing nothing more than taking up space your computer. Since this is a “Noob Guide” I won’t go into the details, but the easiest way to explain is that almost every program, including Windows itself keeps logs of how you use. After all, just like everything else in your life, and contrary to popular belief, your computer does require regular maintenance. There are things you can do to help your PC move along.
The other day we covered how to fix your PC by re-installing Windows but obviously not everybody wants to completely wipe their computer and start from scratch. But that’s another article in it of itself. Of course this guide is great for BestBuy bought computers because they load a ton of unnecessary programs into PCs before selling it to you. This means that if you bought a $300 laptop at MicroCenter or the same laptop for $500 at BestBu it’s probably not going to run much better.
Which means that any company can build a PC and sell it without Windows controlling their hardware at all. The greatest and worst thing about the PC industry is that Windows doesn’t run their market like Apple does. Is your computer slow? Considering buying a new PC because yours just doesn’t run how you remember it? Well, you may not have to! Now, before we begin I want to point out that even if you go through all of these steps, you may find that your PC is outdated.
